Barack Obama has officially named the next Administrator of NASA, a retired Air Force Major General named Scott Gration. This guy's background is about as diverse as it gets.
On the surface I would think that putting a former Air Force officer in charge of NASA lends some credence to the rumor that Obama is going to merge the military rocket program with that of NASA. Obama has said that he wants to shake things upat NASA and get them back into the forefront of space exploration. We invested TRILLIONS of dollars in our military rocket program so why not use some of that technology for manned missions?
